Anti-smog murals

Air purifying paints and anti-smog murals are becoming increasingly popular! Photocatalytic paint contains titanium oxide nanoparticles, which, when exposed to sunlight and water vapor, break down toxic nitrogen oxides (NO and NO2) into harmless substances. Nitrogen oxides are a major component of urban smog, contributing to the development of respiratory diseases (such as asthma) and lowering immunity.

Anti-smog eco murals:

R

neutralize nitrogen oxides and other harmful substances

R

prevent the growth of bacteria and mold on the wall

R

are self-cleaning

The anti-smog mural we made in September 2020 in Warsaw.

Eco-friendly air-purifying murals are a modern approach to ecology.
However, several important factors should be kept in mind:

  • The photocatalyst is titanium dioxide, which is white in color. So the strongest anti-smog properties will be white paint, and adding pigment weakens the effect. An anti-smog mural should therefore have a lot of white or very light surfaces, while dark and intensely colored elements are usually painted with normal paints.
  • For the anti-smog paint to work effectively, sunlight and exposure to rain are needed. So it makes no sense to use this paint in dark and covered areas.

We cooperate with a Polish paint manufacturer, Pigment from Szczecin. Learn more about air-purifying paints at: farbypigment.pl. Painting anti-smog murals is a new trend in the market, and we are leading the way!

We are an official partner of the company Pigment
